Comparisons/Nabis

WeedShelf vs Nabis: a private menu link that reports back, beside a licensed distributor

Nabis describes itself as a licensed cannabis wholesaling platform: it warehouses a brand’s products, delivers them to retailers, collects payment and runs a marketplace where retailers order, in California, New York and Nevada. WeedShelf does none of the physical work. It gives a cultivator a METRC-synced menu with one private link per dispensary, records what each buyer does with it, and turns an order into the METRC packages and the invoice; the cultivator still delivers. This page sets the two side by side in each one’s own terms.

What Nabis is, in its own description

On its public site (read October 2026), Nabis describes itself as a licensed cannabis wholesaling platform and distributor, under the headline “Cannabis wholesale in one simple platform”, serving retailers across California, New York and Nevada. Its retailer page describes a marketplace where licensed retailers order from Nabis brand partners in one online menu, track orders and pay invoices, with a free account created by contacting its Marketplace team. It says most orders are fulfilled and delivered within two days in California and New York.

Its distribution page describes warehousing at Nabis distribution facilities, pickup of batches from a brand’s licensed facility, scheduling of final compliance testing, and collection of cash-on-delivery and net-terms payments with remittance to the brand. It also describes a brand portal for orders, compliance documents, inventory and accounts, a CRM “to target and manage account acquisition”, and reporting on best-selling products, regional sales over time and retail purchasing behavior. Its Capital page describes invoice factoring: Nabis advances a brand the value of a net-terms invoice, less distribution and factoring fees, and collects from the dispensary. Nothing on its public site, as read, describes a METRC integration, or recording which buyer opened a menu or what they looked at.

What WeedShelf is, and is not

WeedShelf is wholesale menu software for licensed cultivators. It reads a cultivator’s inventory from METRC on a scheduled sync and on demand, turns it into a wholesale menu with one private link per dispensary, and records what each buyer does with that link: the open, the products viewed, what went into the cart and in what quantity, and the order. From an order it creates the METRC child packages on adult-use tags, the transfer template, and the emailed invoice; the cultivator dispatches in METRC Connect, as the state requires.

WeedShelf is not an ERP and does not try to be one. It keeps no books, syncs no accounting system, plans no delivery routes, runs no team chat and keeps no public wholesale catalog: no wholesale menu is open to the public. A buyer opens a menu link without an account: the link is the identity. Rhode Island dispensary buyers can also request a WeedShelf buyer account, which WeedShelf reviews and ties to one store; it opens the live menus of every cultivator on WeedShelf’s members-only buyer marketplace, which a cultivator can leave. Rhode Island is the live market. Because WeedShelf works through METRC, a cultivator in Massachusetts or any other state that uses METRC can request access.

Choose Nabis when

  • You want a distributor to warehouse, deliver and collect payment for you.
  • You sell in California, New York or Nevada, where its retailers order through its marketplace.
  • You want to sell net-terms invoices for an advance.

Choose WeedShelf when

  • You deliver to your own buyers and want a menu that shows who is looking.
  • You want the METRC packaging and the transfer template to come from the order.
  • You sell in Rhode Island.

Using both

The two do different jobs. Where a distributor carries a brand, its marketplace sells for it; a private WeedShelf link serves the buyers a cultivator sells to directly. The two do not share data.

Questions

Is WeedShelf a Nabis alternative?
For the menu, the buyer activity and the order-to-METRC step, yes. For warehousing, delivery, payment collection and financing, no: WeedShelf is software, not a distributor.
Does WeedShelf deliver or collect payment?
No. The cultivator delivers and collects as before; WeedShelf emails the invoice.
Where does Nabis operate?
Its site, as read on October 31, 2026, names California, New York and Nevada.
What does Nabis cost?
Its site, as read on October 31, 2026, names distribution and factoring fees without a distribution price list, so no figure is quoted here.
Does a dispensary need an account to use a WeedShelf menu?
No. Each dispensary receives its own private link, and that link is the identity.
Where does WeedShelf operate?
Rhode Island today. Massachusetts and the other states that use METRC by request, since WeedShelf works through METRC.

How this page was written

Every statement about Nabis is taken from its own public website, nabis.com, as read on October 31, 2026; where that site does not describe a capability, the table says so rather than claiming its absence. Statements about WeedShelf are from its own product. No price is quoted for either, because prices change. The methodology page covers what WeedShelf publishes and what it does not.
